I used to love to watch the news, and read all about politics
Since the election it’s a different tune, I can’t even watch or I’m gonna get sick
Is he gonna appoint Goring or Goebbels/ I’d rather be smothered by a million gerbils
I gotta take a break from watching the news, and stay away from politics
Its gonna be escapist novels for me, nothing like what I was reading before
Nothing that gives me that creepy feeling, like seeing parallels to Orwell’s 1984
I gotta forget it at least till December, what happened last week I wish I didn’t remember
I wish I could burn it out of my brain, its like war and peace except its only the war
Hamilton warned us of the people’s choice, but Hamilton is dead, killed in a duel
Things can get bad and things can get worse, its sad to realize we will be governed by fools
Fools who were elected on a platform of lies, and now its time for them to rip off the disguise
This is gonna be quite the four year disaster, and even worse then anyone’s worst high school
